Pathmakers
The Youth and Gender programme creates spaces where young people can grow into
confident, responsible citizens who stand for equality. It nurtures leadership through
exposure, art, sport, and dialogue, and over time has extended to include children and
adolescents, laying a stronger foundation for long-term change. By partnering with colleges, schools, and community institutions, the programme helps ensure that these efforts last well beyond individual projects.
The Pathmakers program is designed to nurture leadership skills in young individuals through volunteerism. It's a year-long youth development initiative tailored for college students aged 18 to 25. The primary goal is to provide students with an alternative and hands-on learning experience, broadening their awareness of socio-economic issues and honing their abilities to initiate positive changes.
The program aims to instill in young people the belief that they can make a difference, regardless of the scale of their actions. Under this program, students are drawn from nearby colleges and gather periodically to volunteer their time and skills. They embark on a transformative journey from a state of "Isolation to Participation" by participating in activities such as residential workshops, life skills training, issue- based discussions, trekking, field trips, and exposure to different locations.
